But Bliss was the star winning Limit & the bitch CC.
Later in the month it was Bath & they didn't fair so well, James only 3rd in his last puppy class & Bliss 2nd in Limit, although to be fair she was losing her coat so quite a good effort.
Southern Counties saw James win a class of one!! & Bliss only 4th in Limit.

At the 1st Joint Irish Setter show, they both came back to form with James winning 4 classes & Bliss topping the Mid-Limit class. Woody went too & got 5th in Grad. but it really wasn't his sort of weather, wet & windy so his coat which was carefully blowed dried straight the day before was a mass of curls!!

A week later & Jane went off to Ireland with Katrina Hall, it was fingers-crossed for a 3rd CC with Bliss but no such luck when it was awarded to her travelling companion!!! Not to worry Glennara Lehana is a daughter of Connor (Sh Ch S. Jackson at L.) & a grand daughter of Sh Ch Lynwood Pioneer of Seadog so still in the family. James won Junior & Graduate.

Three Counties & Ruth Ellis judging, James 2nd Junior, 3rd Yearling & Bliss 1st Limit.

Windsor & I WENT, yes me Sky. I've been in season & grown up a bit & I showed them all how it should be done winning Yearling with my sister Blanche 2nd behind me. The other's ... well James only got 3rd, Woody only short-listed & Bliss only 5th. I'm now entered for a couple more shows so keep an eye out for me.

James won his final open show point at Blackwood show under Ro Cox bringing his total to 27 so he was able to claim his Junior Warrant at only 13months, not bad seeing he didn't arrive from Sweden until he was almost 10 months. He will only go to the one Ch. show he is entered at for the rest of the summer while some of us others will be given a chance to shine. We only sent off for his JW on Monday & his certificate arrived in the post this morning (Friday) Well Done the Kennel Club!!

Have you noticed that our website has been updated, not quite completed but you will find pages for me & James & Bliss & Woody are no longer puppies!!

Bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-70885596871261108732009-04-28T10:24:00.002+01:002009-04-28T10:58:30.603+01:00Hi there

Just James & Bliss going to shows at the moment, my classes would clash with James when there's two judges & Woody's with Bliss & Jane's getting too old for all the running from ring to ring!!! When I do get entered she says I most likely will be in season & not be able to go anyway.

James won 2nd in Puppy at WELKS & Bliss surprised everyone by winning Limit. My sister Ruby, L. Wish For a Kiss From Ermebrook, was 3rd in Junior so qualified for Crufts.

Now home here we have the run of a large patio which goes the whole length of our house. Since James has been here the front door which is in the middle has had to be locked as he paws at it, leaving us all to run amok all over the house. Well yesterday we were in trouble...... As it was raining Roger shut us all back up in the kitchen & then went back to seeing to the kennel dogs. When he came back down we got all excited jumping up to the patio doors, putting the lock down & turning the key, clever us Lynwoods you know!!!

Jane & Roger locked outside, us in. Luckily the bedroom window was open so Roger shimmied up the ladder & went head first though the window, to much giggling from Jane. They now have a front door key firmly in their pockets.

Woody & Caskeys Vermillion At Bluesprings announce the safe arrival of 3boys & 6 girls on the 20th April anyone interested in the litter should contact Christine Heron, 01342 715152.

thats all for now

see Ya

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-45811968369859977222009-04-07T11:14:00.002+01:002009-04-07T12:05:36.413+01:00Hi there

I suppose you may of thought I'd done a runner !! no still here.

I went to Crufts & got a very creditable 3rd in Junior, sister Blanche got 2nd in Undergrad.

Auntie Bronte won Veteran, well done to her & Sandy.

Bliss was 2nd in Mid Limit but the star of the day was our mummy Fern who won Open & then showed her socks off to win the CC, looking great at 7 years old we are so proud of her.

The next big excitement was James arriving fom Sweden, he has settled in really well & all of us love him, he's my half brother you know.

Didn't do too well at his debut at ISBC but placed. Bliss was the only one who went with him & she won Mid Limit.

Next James went to an Open show & only got 3rds but at Chippenham Open show this weekend David Hopewell saw his potential & gave him the puppy & Junior classes & 2nd in Grad in very good competition. He then got 3rd best Gundog Puppy.

Great news from Sweden my sister Nora has "A" scored hips. Me & James go for ours in June, so fingers crossed we will score well too.

The main website should be updated next month with pictures of us all, if Roger ever gets round to taking some.

Bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-71373735521097297782009-01-21T10:12:00.002+00:002009-01-21T11:20:44.735+00:00Hi Everyone

Know it's a bit late but Happy New Year to you all.

Did you see that our website had a mention in the ISBC Newsletter. We really must add a link to Michelle Webster's site & update our photos, until then you can go to www.hooley-irish-setters.co.uk

I had a little rest after LKA & didn't go the the first two shows of the year but Bliss went & got 1st Post Grad at both Boston & SEISC.

Then it was off to Manchester & what a brilliant day the Lynwoods' had. Starting off with Woody winning Grad. & really enjoying his day out. Then his daughter Willow was 2nd in a very good Minor Puppy, next it was my turn & I was 2nd in another nice class of Juniors. Bliss won Post Grad again which was her 5th time so she has qualified out of that class by the number of wins & her CC. Diva ( Lynwood Theme Song For Polmennor) was 2nd in the same class. Darling Promise won Veteran, now 9 years old but looking great. Bliss then was awarded the Res. CC behind the the lovely B.Geisha Girl. To round off our day we also competed in the new competition for Top Breeder which we won with me, Diva, Bliss & Woody, we didn't stay for the group as we all wanted to make our way home.

No shows for any of us now until Crufts, Jane & Roger are off to the Carribean for some winter sun, their first ever cruise, hope they aren't sea sick!! We all must be good for Kim who is coming to look after us & the few dogs & cats in the kennels.

Bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-52116179565280590252008-12-16T10:17:00.002+00:002008-12-16T10:38:01.186+00:00Hi

I know, I know !!! I made a mistake yesterday, It's not really going to be my 1st Christmas.

What I meant was last year I was only 4weeks old so don't remember any of it & we didn't get any turkey as we were already too shitty & smelly. 13 of us all too young to go outside, not nice, no wonder we had no visitors for dinner.

bye now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-17190615573050550612008-12-15T11:54:00.002+00:002008-12-15T12:08:09.091+00:00Hi

Lots to brag about this time.

We went to LKA last Friday. Woody (L. Field of Dreams jw) actually got to a show & behaved himself very well. He won 2nd in Grad. His baby daughter, Polmennor Willow Pattern, was 4th in the very good Minor Puppy class but then was 1st in Puppy, so qualified for Crufts 2009 at her one & only chance, well done.

Me, I was 2nd in Junior & sister Blanche 3rd.

Mummy, Fern, won Open but the star of the day was Bliss (L. Follow Your Dreams jw ) who won Post Grad & then the CC!!! What a lovely way to end the year.

Looking forward to my first Christmas, I hear we get plenty of treats & the turkey is very tasty

Can't wait

Hope you all have a splendid time

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-28893242203669443812008-12-08T18:15:00.002+00:002008-12-08T18:29:21.035+00:00Hi

we are all better now.

while I have been home my brother & sisters have kept the Lynwood flag flying.

Baby Ronnie had best puppy in group at Barry Open show.

Blanche is now up to 17 junior warrant points & looking great!!

Nora in Sweden qualified for Crufts in Stockholm by winning best Junior.

Auntie Bronte also won Best of Breed at Coventry Gundog this weekend.

Well done to all of them.

Me, Woody, Bliss & mummy Fern are all trimmed up for LKA on Friday, so see you there

Love SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-41076046617762627362008-11-17T15:15:00.003+00:002008-11-17T15:49:38.977+00:00 Willow 6months

Hi

Oops I'm in trouble now!! My sister, Nora, won best Junior in Show on the 2nd day.

There are pictures of them all at the top of the page, wanted to display them prettily but darn photos just kept going where they liked!!! She won 7 CC's & 5 Res.CC's & was the mummy to 3 Show Champions. A very special lady missed by all of us.

On a happier note...

We all won at National Gundog, me 1st Minor Puppy, 2nd Puppy, Bliss 1st Grad, Mummy Fern, 1st open.

Then off to Paignton, me 1st Minor Puppy & Puppy, Bliss 1st Grad, & Fern 1st Open & the bitch CC.

I won 3 classes at the SofE Irish Setter open show & now have 19 points towards my Junior Warrant & I'm only 9months old. We have been to a few more open shows but there hasn't been 3 in a class & some I came 2nd anyway!!

We had a lovely visit from Camilla from Sweden, who owns my Daddy, & Eva came too. Even had some sunshine one day. It was the week of Paignton & everyone celebrated during the evening whatwith Fern winning the CC & Eva's Vita winning Res. CC.

There that should of brought you up to date

See you soon

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-13874330910549573862008-07-23T10:03:00.002+01:002008-07-23T10:23:31.384+01:00Hi Sky here
well we've been on our holiday in the campervan. What an exciting time I had, lots of new places to explore. Apparently we were all fairly well behaved off the lead, Fern our Mum was of course "goody twoshoes", My older sister, Bliss, came back perfectly to the whistle except when she decided to try to catch the swallows, and me I just do whatever Bliss does.
I was placed at the ISAE shows, best was 2nd in Puppy bitch, Fern won a 2nd, but Bliss was the star, she won her Graduate class at East of England, and again at the ISAE open show where she went on to win BEST IN SHOW.
Tracie, who took us all in her campervan, was going to take photos of us all but forgot so you will just have to take my word for it, we had a great time.

bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-21841457882073204702008-07-09T15:22:00.002+01:002008-07-09T15:44:18.490+01:00Hi there,
news a bit scarce at the moment. We did go to South Wales show & I got placed 3rd & 4th, Bliss won the Graduate class & our Mum Fern was 2nd in Open.
The day before the show poor Jane got bitten by a nasty Jack Russell boarding at our kennels & needed stitches & a Tetanus injection & is still sporting a bandage on her finger, good job we all had our baths in the morning as we girls like to look our best for the judge you know.
You remember I told you about our planned camping trip, well luckily Tracie has bought a campervan so we won't be under canvas after all but even so it's not going to be very enjoyable if the weather doesn't get better, rain, rain & more rain!!
We all live in the kitchen & as there is 7 of us thats 28 muddy paws.
Bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-42233740223950416342008-06-22T11:02:00.002+01:002008-06-22T11:35:12.777+01:00BlackpoolSky here,
Well yesterday we went to Blackpool, we thought we might go for a paddle but we didn't mean in the ring!!
Seems results are not going quite in the right direction, I started with 1sts then 2nds now 3rds and my half sister, Bliss, has also followed suit at the last three shows, hope we don't get 4ths next. Our folks think we are winners though & say our time will come.
The day finished on a high note when Auntie Bronte, (Lynwood Strands Of Silk at Sandstream) won the Reserve CC, well done.
I brought back a new playmate but sadly she is not to stay. My sister, Amber, is looking for a new person to give her lots of love & attention.
Off to play again, Bliss thinks its great that I'm finally giving her some peace.

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-40288521277523935192008-06-11T15:33:00.003+01:002008-06-11T15:58:42.108+01:00sky's blogHi it's me again,
we went to my 2nd show on monday & I had several people admiring me, this time I was 2nd in Minor Puppy & my sister, Blanche was 3rd, the winner of our class went best puppy. Now my owner, Jane, hasn't been camping for about 20 years & although she is "young at heart" well the body isn't!!! Putting her socks on in the morning can be a struggle & running around the ring with us leaves her breathless. We are going with her friend Tracie & I am sure she wouldn't call herself " a young slip of a girl" either.

They say it will be fun, for us dogs I am sure it will be, but maybe their respective partners, Roger & Nigel, have the better half of the deal with their "home duties"!!!

bye for now

SkyLynwood Settershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11677588040285094464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3989976575637488690.post-47037307874578361112008-06-04T14:24:00.000+01:002008-06-04T14:57:33.884+01:00
Hi

My name is Sky & being the youngest member of my family I have been given the very important job of keeping you up todate with all the news.

We go to lots of shows, and I know all about them as I went to my first one last week!!

It was called Southern Counties & this is me beating all the other Irish Setter puppies.

My Sister, Blanche, was 2nd and our Brother, Ronnie, got a 5th, so not a bad start.

My older half sister, Bliss, won her Graduate class.
